Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

What is EFT?

EFT, often called “tapping,” is a simple technique that combines gentle tapping on certain points on the body with focused attention on an emotion, thought, or situation.

In simple words, EFT helps you acknowledge what you are feeling instead of fighting or suppressing it, while using tapping to create a sense of calm and emotional relief.

For example, if someone feels anxious about an upcoming situation, an EFT session may involve identifying the anxiety, talking about the feeling while tapping on specific points, and gradually shifting the emotional response.

How can EFT be helpful?

There are some researchs suggesting EFT helpd reduce anxiety, stress, and certain emotional symptoms and reasonable reduction in cortisol levels. It is simple, gentle and can be practiced regularly. It can also be used alongside counselling, coaching or other therapeutic modalities

How is EFT done ?

It combines talking about an emotion or issue while gently tapping on specific points on the body like

  • Eyebrow
  • Side of the eye
  • Under the eye
  • Under the nose
  • Chin
  • Collarbone
  • Under the arm
  • Top of the head

Over time, the goal is to help you develop a calmer emotional response to the situation.

EFT can be used in self-practice for everyday stress.
